We know that not all of you (students or parents) may follow our principle that understanding mathematics is preliminary to and decisive for “doing” mathematics and – under social constraints that we understand – you concentrate your resources on pragmatic goals: having homework done, developing problem-solving skills for tests and exams, and getting good grades. There is nothing wrong in that. Mathematics, by its nature, can be used and applied with no deep understanding of its concepts; however, procedures and problem-solving may work better when you understand the concepts behind the solutions.

For those of you who require that “practical” approach, we offer the service of problem-solving with fully explained solutions. Such a solution shows you in detail, as your teacher should if s/he had enough time for that, how to go about solving the problem and explains the math concepts involved and how are they applied. In other words, it is equivalent to a classical tutoring session with respect to the knowledge you gain. This is not a compromise, but rather, professional help that completes your class tasks and learning.

- The solution is preceded on the first page by a set of solving hints in form of keywords and brief references to theoretical aspects and procedures that it employs. These hints could guide you in working out the solution by yourself. If this works for you, you may then check yourself by following the detailed solution from the next page.
- The solution is presented in the appropriate theoretical framework.
- The solution is personalized according to your level and your concerns (if you have included your comments and questions along with the problem/exercise).
- The essential mathematical concepts and their properties employed in the solution are recalled and briefly explained.
- Every step in the procedure is explained with respect to the strategy of solving, logic, and the mathematical theory applied.
- Where relevant, generalizations and examples or counterexamples are suggested for an adequate understanding of the concepts and theories involved, as well as the contexts in which the problem might be applied.
- The instructional content which is added to the formal-mathematical solution is indicated by different colors, in case the formal solution needs to be copied.

How it works


- Contact us at orders[at]philscience.org (subject ‘solution order’) with the problem/exercise you need solved (scanned or copied as a text). Please provide the following information: the source of the problem (textbook or other book, class, web resource), the location of the problem (chapter, subchapter, page), your age and grade, and the time when you need the solution back.
- We will get back to you in few hours (usually 1-2 hours) with the confirmation of the delivery, timeframe, and price.
- The solution is delivered via Google Drive. (You need a Google account for using Drive. Once you have registered at Google Drive, please send us the e-mail address you use there so that we can give you access to the requested solutions).
- Once the solution is delivered, if you still do not understand parts of it or you need clarifications, we are available 24 hours for your questions.

The price depends on the complexity of the problem and/or of the solution and usually ranges from $4 to $10 per solution. You may pay just for the ordered solution or make a payment in any amount and use your balance at any time for future orders.
